Fantasy Earth Zero Fan Art Contest

here's my sorcerer entry for fantasy earth zero. i wanted to come up with something funny, colorful and interesting for this one. she dance around to cast spells, she hates shoes and she uses a feather duster for a wand. the back story i made for this one is pretty long and boring so you may stop reading here.


sorcerers, i think, are very wacky, eccentric, weird individuals. you wont be able to tell if they're geniuses or just plain crazy. they talk to things that nobody else can see, they count the dust in the air and are easily amused by shiny things. they see the world in a very different way because of their training. they start training in the magical arts while they are still little children. as soon as they enter the monastery they are immediately blind folded and their senses numbed. the five senses are distractions that would prevent them from seeing or perceiving the spiritual energy around them. the spells that bound their senses are removed only after they graduated. and when it is removed, the information overload kinda snap their brains like a twig.

because of their isolation from the material world, sorcerers developed a natural attachment to weird colorful things. they don't like to wear shoes because they like to feel the soil with their feet. they use movement rather than words to cast their spells and they use random objects for weapons like the feather duster above.

With the two brilliant characters you've created for this contest, I would be surprised if you didn't something. I like her the best, because she just seems like such an interesting person. Yay crazy geniuses!

Those colors are so nice! It's like she's luminescent. However, I have a few things to say. I hope you don't mind:

I would have given a different background color. For my feeling it curses a bit with the colors of the girl. Second, her body seems really short! Especially her legs. She looks a little bit like a very young girl. Maybe you could also have made the staff bigger.

i was thinking the exact same thing while rendering her! i used references for the pose so i thought i could get away with the anatomy, thanks for pointing it out. and indeed the background was done half-assed. thanks for the critique, i love your gallery :)
